In today’s world, hundreds and thousands of people suffer from depression, anxiety, and guilt. While several institutions, organizations, and services offer aid for mental health, the problem still lingers throughout the world. Their services may not be accessible to everyone. Therapy, for example, may be expensive. The world now is going through pain, making several people go through suicidal thoughts; unfortunately, many succeeded. Every year, more than 700,000 lives are taken by suicides alone. Reasons may vary from having family pressure, struggling to find purpose in life, being tired of living alone, struggling with their health, and the reasons keep rising. Whatever reasons people may have, lives can be lost. Some wonder if they are capable of being happy again.

When looking at mental health, people tend to target a person’s emotions or mental wellbeing. However, this isn’t the case for everyone. There may be times when a person doesn’t have anyone to help them. They may be completely alone or feel uncomfortable about sharingtheir thoughts and personal traumas. Even if you don’t have anyone to help you, it is very much possible to deal with depression and anxiety by yourself. In cases for some people, it may serve them better. With enough time and patience, turning your life around may be within your grasp.

Happiness is forgiveness. Forgiveness comes with no price and full of rewards. Learning to forgive, not just others, but also yourself, is something we can practice. Someone may have wronged you in the past. Whether or not they remember or apologize for it, forgive them. If you have wronged someone or did something you feel guilty about, forgive yourself. In this small world, billions of people fit on this planet. Everyone’s lives can keep going if you keep holding onto things of the past. The past will only hurt you more than help you. Find peace with it; let the past be a lesson for you. Forgiveness is a powerful key to happiness. Worry about what the future holds for you, and not let the past hold you back. The only thing holding you back is yourself.

Happiness is health. If you ever feel down one day, drink a glass of water. If you ever feel like you’re alone, take a long shower. If you ever get suicidal thoughts, sit down and eat some vegetables. If you ever feel trapped, go outside and take a walk while listening to optimistic tracks playing through your earphones. Remind yourself that the world is vast and beautiful. Your life is vast and beautiful, whether you are adventurous or not. Your life contributes to humanity’s total number globally. Try taking your mind away from the negative memories and take a deep breath of fresh air on a hilltop at sunset. The gust of cool, fresh air may be what you need to move forward. After you have done everything mentioned, set up your alarm for 7 in the morning and head to bed at 10. Living a healthy lifestyle can give you the boost you need.

Happiness is love. Let’s try putting down the things we hate that hurts us. Take a piece of paper and a pen. Now, write everything you love on the paper. It can be anything you love; it can be your home, the sun, the nebula you saw on your phone a few years back, or that one memory you had with your best friend in high school. Write as much as you want, however you want. One-word answers, a paragraph, or a list, take that piece of paper and read it aloud. It doesn’t matter if the memory is only a memory. Each memory is precious, and it shapes who you are as a person. Memories of each person differ from one another. You are unique, and you can love yourself for that. Maybe you love your talent for playing the piano. Maybe you love your craftsmanship or creativity. There are endless possible combinations of what each person loves, and that’s the beauty of it. That is the beauty of you as a person. No life is too insignificant.

Happiness is a smile. Let’s pick up your phone and open those cat videos you loved watching. Maybe you’re more of a dog person? Or maybe you like hamsters? Perhaps some cooking videos for you to try? Let’s try looking through your gallery. Go all the way back to your first few photos where you took silly pictures because you wanted to try the camera’s quality. We’ve all done it, don’t worry. I myself am guilty of it. No matter what happens, find it in yourself to smile. Lift up your head and try something so your mood gets better. When happiness is nowhere around you, make your own happiness. If something makes you happy, there isn’t a reason too small.

Happiness is peace. Calm yourself down every once in a while. If you feel like you are getting annoyed or having your buttons pushed by something, eat some sweet cookies. If you feel bothered by something, drink some tea. Take a deep breath and remember to keep yourself calm. When you get angry, upset, and worked up, you might make some rash decisions. Remember to take control of your situation so that you can stay calm. Peace is only possible when things are calm.

Be sure to take good care of yourself. You only have one short life. Be sure to make the most of your life. Remember, each life counts. You have meaning and you are special. Don’t let anyone or anything say otherwise or take them away from you.

In God’s economy, stewardship is measured by having the right perspective about material blessings.

Christians can benefit from practicing minimalism as long as it does not take precedence your their beliefs.
